VICAR

United Benefice of

St Peter’s Church, Wawne, East Yorkshire

St Andrew’s Church, Sutton Park, Hull

Our two churches are committed to our communities and to making God’s love known to them. Our communities have a wonderful variety to them – long established residents, extensive new housing, a significantly deprived council estate plus a small village whose church family have a vision for changing their building to enable much greater midweek use. There are great opportunities here and so much that God can do amongst us and our communities.

We work well together and enjoy being part of the benefice. We have begun to engage with families and long for this ministry to be deepened. We recognise the need to be led into new ways and we are looking to our new vicar to do this.

We are looking for a Vicar who will:

· Empower us – sharing their passionate and lively faith.

· Thrive on the variety of our context.

· Focus on reaching families and younger adults, valuing our links with schools.

· Lead us strategically as we seek to reach our extensive area of new housing.

· Minister with empathy, bringing pastoral awareness and insights.

· Share the faith, based on scripture, in teaching, word and action.

Parish ministry can be demanding, and we are committed to support you practically and in prayer. You will not be on your own - we have existing ministers, lay and ordained, plus the commitment to appoint a new stipendiary Associate Minister to work with our new Vicar.
