Children and Youth
Welcome to the Children and Youth Team’s pages. These pages will give you some introductory information about children and young people in the Diocese of York.
The Diocese of York is committed to helping all children and young people become ‘Fully Alive in God’ by giving them every opportunity to:
- hear and experience the Good News of God’s love for the world
- grow in their own faith and understanding of God
- join in God’s mission to the world around them
- engage in the Christian responsibility to care for the earth and those living on it
- be fully valued and treated as members of our churches and diocese
We do not believe that Children and Young People are the church of tomorrow. They are the Church today and have understanding and truth to share with the 'adult' Church for all of our benefit, and to God’s glory.

We hope you will find the information on these pages helpful. Click on the tabs at the side of the page to explore a variety of information and news, and resources. We don’t imagine this will provide all the answers you may be looking but hopefully it will be a start. We would always prefer the opportunity to talk to you in person about your situation.
