Shared Ministry
Moving Towards Shared Ministry

'Shared ministry' is the general term used to described the various ways in which ministry is changing in the Church of England. At a fundamental level it is about how all Christians use their gifts and skills and energy and faith in serving each other and the world, and about how they do that in collaboration with each other.

Two sets of things are happening in the Diocese of York to help shared ministry to develop:

1) There are courses now in place and in development which are designed to give lay people some of the information, skill and confidence needed to take a fuller part in the ministry of the Church. Information about these courses can be found on this web site under Foundations of Faith and Equipping God's People

2) A new short course and development programme - called Exploring Shared Ministry - is now available to parishes, benefices, Deaneries in the Diocese.
