Bishop of Hull blesses the new site for Archbishop Sentamu Academy

The Rt Revd Richard Frith, Bishop of Hull, blessed the ground at the site of the new Archbishop Sentamu Academy on Preston Road , Hull, on Friday 28th February. He was joined by local Councillors, members of the local community and students from Archbishop Sentamu Academy, who were almost blown away by the wind! The Academy is currently located on Hopewell Road, but wortk has already started on the new site in Preston Road, and it's hoped the work there will be completed by Autumn 2011.

The Diocese of York is the Sponsor of Archbishop Sentamu Academy as part of its mission to serve young people and their communities.

The Archbishop Sentamu Academy will develop as a centre of educational excellence founded on Christian principles and with a Christian ethos. It is committed to nurturing and valuing every member of its community and to an inclusive approach to all aspects of Academy life.
