National Heritage Open Weekend, St Peter and St Paul's Scrayingham

Calling all fans of 'Time Team'! Now's your chance to become part of the action!

As part of the National Heritage Open Weekend, St Peter and St Paul's Scrayingham will be open with refreshments, and plenty of people will be around to answer questions about the exciting history of this ancient church.

We will be launching our new guidebook, and Jon Kenny, from the York Archaeological Trust will be there to lead a live community dig in the area near the churchyard. We hope to have some test pits, and do some 'geophys', and if you wish, Jon is happy for you to get your hands dirty and join in!

The afternoon will finish with a short service in the church in the modern Celtic tradition.
