XLS at Lightwater Valley

XLS has a growing reputation as one of THE events to go to in the North and it is especially geared to young people in the Diocese of York. This year we booked Lightwater Valley Theme Park for our own EXCLUSIVE use!

Starting at 5.45pm most rides were open and because there will be no major queuing to worry about, there was enough time to get round loads of rides - although not quite enough time for THE ULTIMATE! At 8pm (ish) when the rides closed, there was an open air concert featuring THE STEELS (www.myspace.com/thesteels) and Stephen Riley was the speaker who challenged us all to think about our journey of faith and relationship with Jesus. This was a classic youth event that was so well received the planning group are looking to repeat the experience next year... watch this space.

For the leaders there was a 'Leader Resource Theatre' hosted by URBAN SAINTS with a variety of resources to see and buy and organizations giving presentations and available to talk with. Again an appreciated resource, although with the weather being so good, quite a few people missed out on the free coffee, foot spa's and chocolate fountain!
