Encounter Bungoma

The Revd Phil White has written an update on Encounter Bungoma - please download this below. There's a a Big Thank You for the library books many of you donated, a request for unwanted Study Bibles for conscientious Clergy, and an invitation to join an Encounter Bungoma Team in 2012.

Encounter Bungoma 2012:‘Step into someone else’s shoes’

This is an invitation to consider joining a Team next year.

A clergy person came up to one of our Team members during a visit with tears in his eyes saying simply ‘Revd ….. You love us… you come!’. Is God in your heart drawing you to come?

If you’d be interested or want to talk over what it might involve please get in touch soon.

There are already a number of potential Team members for a multi-task visit from 20th May 2012 (dates can be flexible).

There will be some teachers visiting schools in Bungoma that are linked with schools in the York Diocese.

There will be some spending time at St Dorcas Orphanage.

There will be some engaging in teaching and training for lay and clergy, using whatever experience they have.

We want to develop growing friendships, encourage learning and growth and contribute in practical ways where that is possible and appropriate. We expect the giving and receiving to be both ways.

A mixed programme will be arranged and there will be anopportunity to make a safari as well.

The cost will be approximately £1500.
